Parenting Education

WHO IT’S FOR:

  • Families with young children (birth to age 5)
  • New moms and dads
  • Teen parents
  • Grandparents raising grandchildren
  • Foster parents

WHY IT MATTERS:

Being the parent of a baby, toddler or preschooler can be challenging. You don’t need to be perfect. Understanding more about child development and positive parenting can help you do your best to support your child’s healthy development and be a lot more confident in your parenting skills. And that can make a big difference for you, your child and your entire family.

WHAT IT IS:

Parents of young children attend a free series of group classes over a number of weeks. Classes are led by trained parent educators. You’ll connect with other families with young children and improve your parenting skills as you learn about:

  • Positive parenting strategies
  • Developing a loving relationship with your child
  • Caring for babies and toddlers
  • Ways to handle challenging behaviors
  • How to help your child learn and grow
  • Brain development
  • Developmental milestones
  • Health, safety and nutrition
  • Much more

Contact the parenting education program in your area to learn more and how you can participate.
