IEC Goes to Texas
The IEC Thermo team made their first visit to Texas – beautiful San, Angelo, TX to be specific, to attend the West Texas Regional Hemp Conference and Vendor Expo. It was a great two days of networking. Drew, Shawna, and Jen thoroughly enjoyed connecting with many long time Texas farmers and those who were interested in learning more about the emerging hemp industry.
Even though Texas was a little bit late to the hemp game, Texas’ Commissioner of Agriculture Sid Miller predicts that not only will Texas catch up quickly, but soon will be a leader in the industry. He also believes that most Texas farmers will be growing hemp to produce CBD, at least in the beginning, before they move on to growing hemp for its fibers, which can be used for anything from animal bedding, clothing and shoes, to packaging, insulation, and even carpeting.
There are many benefits to hemp production, and another reason Texas farmers couldn’t be more thrilled about hemp is because hemp can be planted on farm land that is in rough shape and the hemp will help to put nitrogen back into the soil and remove any contamination.
IEC couldn’t be happier that hemp made its way to Texas, because everyone knows Texas does everything bigger. And IEC Thermo offers the largest capacity of any hemp dryer on the market with systems starting at 3000 wet pounds per hour. We look forward to bringing high efficiency multi-phase hemp drying to Texas farmers so they can ensure their whole crop can be stabilized and protected.
