EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT

Fort George Brewery is an equal opportunity employer that actively seeks to hire qualified individuals from all walks of life regardless of race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other classification protected by law. Federal law requires employers to provide reasonable accommodation to qualified individuals with disabilities; please let us know if you require a reasonable accommodation to apply for a job or to perform a prospective job.

HOW TO GET STARTED

You can pick up an application in the pub, apply to a specific position at www.fortgeorgebrewery.com/jobs, or email jobs@fortgeorgebrewery.com for more info. Even if we don’t have specific positions available, we’re always accepting applications (for electronic submissions, use the General Application link under “Available Positions”). We are happy to accept resumes and/or cover letters with applications, and to keep your materials on file for future positions as they become available.

OUR PROCESS

We aren’t always able to respond to every application received, but we do try. If you’ve submitted an application and haven’t heard back, please feel free to follow up with us.

We compare valid applications with available positions, and sometimes we reach out for a quick phone call to go over any followup questions that we might have. Once we’ve selected our top candidates, we reach out to schedule an interview. We’re looking for individuals who not only possesses the necessary job skills, qualifications and availability for the role we need to fill, but also who share the same cultural values; when you prepare for an interview, ask yourself these questions:

•How familiar are you with the history of Fort George Brewery + Public House?

•How familiar are you with our menus, our beers, or our locations?

•How familiar are you with our organization’s broader cultural values or mission?

When interviewees arrive they’ll sit down with an interview team who will ask a mix of technical and situational questions, review qualifications, and paint a comprehensive picture of both who we are as an organization and what the position will entail. As an interviewee, make sure to bring questions of your own about the role, us as an organization, or anything else.

HOW WE DECIDE

When we finish our interviews and it’s time to make a decision, we review notes and ask ourselves:

•Brass Tacks: does this person’s availability match the required schedule of the position? Does this person satisfy the position’s bona fide occupational requirements? Is this person able to establish their identity and eligibility to work in the United States?

•Job-related Knowledge: is this person a qualified individual who has the skills and experience for the job, or the background and ability to succeed at the job with the right training and development?

•Cultural Fit and the Mission: will this person thrive in an organization that prioritizes and rewards teamwork and initiative? Do they have a passion for independent craft, and will they take ownership of our organization’s success through their individual actions? Will they help us to perpetuate a respectful workplace that’s dedicated to diversity, equal opportunity, and sustainability? Will they help us to be a positive force for our community, to succeed in providing a safe and opportunity rich workplace, and to create an excellent beer experience?
