Painted Grey is an acoustic rock band hailing from Portland, Oregon. Starting as an acoustic duo with Andrew Tewson and Deanna Walton, the band began to take shape with the addition of Caleb Roloff and Paul Tewson in the spring of 2008. Shifting from a solely acoustic sound, they have developed into a much fuller and rock driven style, without losing their acoustic roots. Andrew and Deanna initially met in a former band lasting only a couple of months. They continued writing and recording in Andrew’s basement for the better part of a year. Moving from Long Beach, Washington, Caleb met Deanna while working at the same restaurant in the Portland area. Caleb began attending jam sessions religiously shortly after. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect when Paul Tewson, Andrew’s younger brother, moved from Bozeman, MT to Portland and immediately joined the band as their drummer. After several months of bassless shows, Anthony Darrough, a Georgian transplant who moved recently to the Portland area, was the last and final addition to Painted Grey.
