The Function’s songwriting is reminiscent of early 70’s Funk bands like Earth,Wind and Fire and Tower of Power but has a refreshingly modern appeal like Jamiroquai and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. For the past year The Function has been performing their original music all over Northern California, Oregon and Washington. They have played venues like Jazzbones Tacoma, Mcmenamin’s, Portland,The Caspar Inn, Mendocino, and The Green Spot, Coos Bay. In that short time The Function has had the honor of sharing the stage with Bay Area Legends Country Joe McDonald, & Lydia Pense & Cold Blood. The Function is Jesse Lee Falls (guitar, vocals), Jacob Graichen (trumpet, vocals), Calen Uhlig (Bass) and Josh Corry (drums). Jesse Lee Falls & The Function are touring to promote Jesse’s album One Step. In August of 2009, The Function began recording their new album at Paradise studios in Sacramento, CA with Craig Long and Kirt Shearer.
