The 1922 Astoria Fire: 100 Years Later

On December 8th, 1922, downtown Astoria burned to the ground. In the aftermath, there was almost nothing left except the Lovell Building, which served as a shelter for all of the displaced merchants and community members while the town was rebuilt. Exactly 100 years later, you can join us in the Lovell Showroom on Thursday, December 8th for a special Panel of Astoria history & fire experts to commemorate that fateful day.

Jaime Lump, Lower Columbia Preservation Society – The scope of the fire (walking tour map) and the change in historic architecture and buildings
