Learn the history of all things Desdemona in Astoria, from the wreck of the Desdemona in 1857, to the tavern that opened in 1934, the name, Desdemona, has a special resonance for the people of Astoria. This presentation explores the connections between the ship, a large sand bar, a lighthouse, and a tavern all named after Desdemona. Local historians Eric Wheeler and Lauri Serafin might raise more questions than answers in this well-researched, but light-hearted presentation.
Doors to the Lovell Showroom open at 6pm with food and beverages available via the Taproom window. All ages welcome & never a cover.
