Our next Nature Matters features Dr. Lindsay Aylesworth, the newly appointed Marine Reserves program leader with the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife.
In 2012, Oregon kicked off its five-site marine reserve program with the establishment of reserves at Otter Rock and Redfish Rocks. The other three spots, including the Cape Falcon Marine Reserve site on the north coast, came into effect in 2014 and 2016. The five marine reserve sites are areas in the ocean dedicated to conservation and scientific research.
Join Nature Matters in the Fort George Lovell Showroom every 4th Thursday, October–May for Nature Matters, hosted by Lewis and Clark National Historical Park, in partnership with the North Coast Watershed Association, the Lewis & Clark National Park Association, and Fort George Brewery + Public House. Doors open at 6pm with food & beverages available via the Taproom window, talk starts at 7pm. All ages welcome and never a cover!
