Blockchain, and Bitcoin, and Crytpo, Oh My!

With Matt Damon and Larry David pitching cryptocurrencies during the Super Bowl and the LA Lakers arena selling its naming rights to crypto.com for $700 million, cryptocurrencies are breaking into the mainstream. On Thursday, April 7th Clatsop Community College Math Instructor Rich Beveridge will present “Blockchain and Bitcoin and Crypto, Oh, My” at the second to last Ales & Ideas of the season. The talk will focus on the historical development of digital cryptography in the 20th century and how these ideas were used to create cryptocurrencies and other blockchain applications.

Rich Beveridge has been teaching math at Clatsop Community College since completing his Masters degree in mathematics at the University of Maine in 2004.

Clatsop Community College is pleased to follow Fort George’s lead in returning to a live audience for select Thursday Night Talks.
