Ales & Ideas: Sing Your Way Whole

Margaret Frimoth, Ph.D., Clatsop Community College staff and founder of The Healing Circle, home of the Victory Over Child Abuse (VOCA) Camp program. The Healing Circle is a community-based volunteer organization dedicated to providing intentionally safe camp experiences for child survivors of sexual abuse. Since the first camp in 1988, CCC has been a partner with The Healing Circle to provide annual training for camp volunteers and interested community members.

Songs are key to the healing process. Margaret will engage the audience in favorite songs, and share stories of healing experiences from many years at camp. She will be joined by VOCA Camp volunteers, along with staff and volunteers from the local Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program, and The Harbor, an advocacy center for survivors of domestic and sexual violence to share information about programs that support survivors. This presentation is not a concert. This is an interactive, community songfest that embraces music as a key to community-building and the healing process.

Doors to the Lovell Showroom open at 6 pm with food and beverages available via the Taproom window. All ages welcome and never a cover.
